ADDING A COURSE PROBLEM
This may be caused by the following reasons:
The course section you have attempted to add has already had all its
seats filled. (Please use your Class Hour Schedule Course Listing, the
Class Search Page on the Student Information System, or the Latest
Class Hour Schedule Updates page to identify another section of the course
you are attempting to add. Use the CRN for this course and add it using
the Register, Add or Drop Page in the System. If ALL THE SECTIONS ARE FILLED,
PLEASE CONTACT THE REGISTRAR AT registrar@rpi.edu. If you are emailing information regarding a closed section to the Registrar, please type "CLOSED SECTION" on the subject line.
The CRN you have used is not a valid CRN. (Please verify that the CRN
is the correct CRN. You can do this by
searching for the course section using the Class
Search Page on the Student Information System.)
One section's related time period conflicts with another section's
time period.
Use the Class Search Page on the Student Information System to verify that
all your courses occupy separate time periods.
You may not have attempted to add the section CRN into the Add Class
matrix on the Register, Add or Drop page.
You may have added the section CRN to the Add Class matrix on the Register,
Add or Drop page, but you may not have pressed the [Submit Changes] button.
If you still are experiencing problems contact the Registrar's Office
at 518-276-6231 or at registrar@rpi.edu.

USING THE CLASS SEARCH
PAGE PROBLEM
This may be caused by one of the following reasons:
- A subject may not have been chosen from the subject pull down box.
(Choosing a subject prior to pressing the [Get Classes] button is required
in this version of the Student Information System.)
- You may not have pressed the [Get Classes] button. (The [Get Classes]
button needs to pressed so that your Class Search is initiated.)
- The parameters you are using may be too restrictive. (For example,
you may have selected the Engineering Science subject, but also chose William
St. John (a Management professor), so that when the Class Search request
was processed, no records with BOTH an Engineering Science Subject and
a professor of William St. John were found.) Try to make sure to set your
search parameters carefully.
- If you still are experiencing problems contact the Registrar's Office
at 518-276-6231 or at registrar@rpi.edu.

DROPPING A COURSE PROBLEM
- The drop a course function on the Student Information System is
not seen easily. Go to the Current Schedule Section of the Register, Add
or Drop Page. Then go to the Column titled "Action". In this
column you will see a box (or boxes) with an upside down arrow to its right.
(The text will say "None") Click on (using your mouse) the upside
down arrow which is in the row for the course you would like to drop, and
move your mouse to the "Dropped-via- Web" option and release
the left key on your mouse. The box should now read "Dropped-via-Web".
Scroll down to the bottom of the Register, Add or Drop Page using the Scroll
bar on the right hand side of your screen. At the bottom of the page, Press
the [Submit Changes] button with your mouse. When your screen refreshes,
you should see a Register Add or Drop Page that DOES NOT INCLUDE the course
you just dropped.
- If you still are experiencing problems contact the Registrar's Office
at 518-276-6231 or at registrar@rpi.edu.
